Japanese Parliament's Yoga Club to be inaugurated by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Inspired by renowned spiritual leader, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a Yoga Club has been formed in the Japanese Parliament, which Gurudev will be inaugurating on the 4th of April.

Over a hundred parliamentarians have already signed up to be members of the club, said senior parliamentarian Mr. Hiroshi Yamada.
"With guidance from Sri Sri, we are very sure that the initiative will become a grand success," he added.

The year 2017 having been declared as the year of 'Japan-India Friendly Exchanges,' this initiative is being seen as a milestone in the tradition bound Japanese culture.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to inaugurate YOGA CLUB in Japanese Parliament

TOKYO, April 2: Inspired by spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a Yoga Club has been formed in Japanese Parliament. The Yoga Club will be inaugurated on the 4th of April by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Senior parliamentarian Mr Hiroshi Yamada who is the chief coordinator of the proposed Yoga Club in Japanese Parliament said, "This idea of Yoga in the parliament has many takers and already more than hundred parliamentarians have signed up to be members of the Yoga club. With guidance from Sri Sri, we are very sure that this initiative will become a grand success."

The year 2017 having been declared as the year of 'Japan-India Friendly Exchanges,' this initiative is being seen as a milestone in the tradition bound Japanese culture.

Hon'ble Hakubun Shimomura, who has held many senior ministerial berths in the Government of PM Shinzo Abe, will be the Chairman of the Yoga Club. Mr Shimomura shared that he is inspired by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's vision of a stress-free society and one world family. "The most memorable moment of my life was when I read the message from Hon'ble PM Shinzo Abe addressing the World Culture Festival held in New Delhi last year," he added.

"We are very happy that Japanese parliamentarians are showing interest in yoga and meditation. This is much needed in current times," said renowned educationist Prof Pema Gyalpo, who is also the chairman of Art Of Living in Japan.
