The Art of Living celebrates 1 year of Skill development programs in Chennai!
Started in July 2016 as an initiative to reach out to those displaced by the Floods of 2015, it has reached out to more than 600 families from 5 slums of Chennai. Women have been given training in tailoring and a machine is given at the end of the 3 month training period, for them start earning and supplementing the household income. In one of the slums, a small manufacturing facility has been set up and the women are taking orders for school uniforms and manage the sustainability if the Unit, by themselves.
Date: Sept 16th (Saturday) @ 2.00 pm
Join us as we celebrate their journey towards self-reliance where we hand over another batch of trainees with certificates and tailoring machines.
