In the aftermath of the cyclone Gaja, the Art of Living volunteers swung into action to provide relief materials to the affected villages of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Pudukottai and Nagapattinam. As on 26th November, we have covered 60 villages, benefiting 5375 families and distributed 20 tons worth materials, including essential supplies like potable water, rice, dals, milk powder, bread, etc. Tarpaulin sheets for those whose homes were damaged. Approximately 100+ volunteers are physically working on this project, everyday, backed by many more volunteers who are working hard to procure and reach the supplies to the common relief centre for the 4 districts.
As we speak, our team is distributing relief to 6 villages in Vedaranyam region today, 27th Nov reaching out to 2975 families ( Kuravapulam - Keezhkadu @ 8 am - 175 families; Kuravaulam - Vadakkadu @ 10 am - 300 families; Katharipulam @ 11 am - 500 families; Manjakanni Marudhur @ 12 noon - 300 families; Pranthiyakarai 2 2 pm - 700 families; Vadamazhai Manakad @ 3.30 pm - 1000 families.
